Evidence Based Medicine
Dr. Fradkin prides himself on practicing evidence based pediatrics. He knows that by using the best designed randomized control trials, and the most up to date pediatric health protocols he does not have to rush off to prescribe a medicine or order a test if it will not change the course of an illness or help his patients.

Low Intervention Pediatrics
By practicing evidence based pediatrics Dr. Fradkin is able to provide safe and effective low intervention care. For instance, let’s say little Jenny or Johnny comes into Dr. Fradkin’s office with 1 day of a fever and some ear pain. Dr. Fradkin will look into their ear and see an ear infection. He knows that dependent on the child’s size and age they have as high as an 85% chance of clearing an ear infection on their own without antibiotics. So, Dr. Fradkin will give his best advice for symptomatic care and preparatory guidance for monitoring little Jenny or Johnny at home for signs of worsening infection. But, let’s say Jenny or Johnny come back to the office after a couple of days with worse fever, worse ear pain, trouble sleeping etc…then of course we will then prescribe antibiotics.

Making Child Development Make Sense
In terms of child development Dr. Fradkin takes a biological and evolutionarily driven approach hoping to explain a child’s loveable quirks and behaviors in terms of their biological causes in order to help bring some perspective to the sometimes bizarre peculiarities that parenting brings.
Overall, Dr. Fradkin wants to make sure your questions in regards to your child’s growth and development are answered and makes sound sense so you can help your child happily and healthily grow into whatever adolescent, teenage, and young adult they want to be!

About Dr. Fradkin
“A person’s a person no matter how small”
— Dr. Seuss
Born and raised in Southern California Dr. Fradkin completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Molecular Biology at UC San Diego. He then traveled up the 5 freeway to UC Irvine for medical school where he graduated with honors from the Alpha Omega Alpha Society and the Gold Humanism Honor society, which is just a fancy term for graduating in the top 1% of medical students nationwide that year. He also graduated with distinction in the medical humanities for his work and research on music and creative arts therapy for patients.
After medical school he traveled even further up the 5 freeway to the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital for his Pediatric Residency and Training. During his training he also completed a rural pediatrics training which allowed him to gain experience as a true general pediatrician with experience as an ICU Pediatrician, Emergency Room Pediatrician, and Newborn Delivery Pediatrician.
Dr. Fradkin then left the Pacific Northwest briefly to return to Southern California for extra help from family (ie free babysitting) when he and his wife, Sarah, started a family of their own. During this time he practiced at the Tribeca Pediatrics offices in the Venice Beach and Silver Lake neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Though when the opportunity came to come back to practice in the Pacific Northwest his family could not pass it up.
Dr. Fradkin then served as clinic lead for Swedish Pediatrics in Queen Anne from 2016 - 2023. During his time there he fell in love with the neighborhood and was constantly humbled by his amazing patients. He is truly honored and humbled being entrusted to care for families in this tight knit and vibrant community.
This has led him and his family to start Puffin Pediatrics. A community focused, family run, pediatric health clinic. He looks forward to continuing to provide excellent care for families of Seattle for many years to come. He knows that the amazing pediatric population of Seattle needs an equally amazing pediatric health home.
In his free time Dr. Fradkin loves spending time with his family exploring the Pacific Northwest. Also, Dr. Fradkin is obsessed with music. When not in clinic you can often find him at concerts, record stores, guitar shops, or playing with his bands Jilly Boel, Honest Iago, and The Concessions Stand.
Dr. Fradkin and Sarah also run a non-profit called Music to Heal which provides supplies and funding for music and creative arts therapy programs throughout the USA and Canada. By supporting the clinic a percentage of membership fees goes directly to funding music and arts therapy for kids of all ages not just in Seattle but across the country.
