Ear Pulling

Pulling on one’s ear as an infant or toddler can mean a lot of things. Around 4-6 months when kiddos start having better control of their hands, the ears are mostly just a fun thing to grab and pull on. Sometimes referred pain from teething can go up to the ear and make a kiddo play with their ear as well. However, if we have a fever of 100.4 °F (38 °C) or above with incessant ear pulling or sticking a finger in the ear, we should check that out in the office to look for an ear infection.
