Ear Tubes

Also known as tympanostomy tubes, ventilation tubes, or pressure equalization tubes, they are little cylinders or hoses that allow for fluid to travel out of the middle ear for kids with chronic ear infections or ear fluid. This allows us to treat with ear drops for kids with multiple ear infections and also allows kids to hear better even with an ear infection. They are a temporary solution while we wait for kiddos to develop larger sinuses to help store mucus from coughs and colds. These tubes will stay in from 6 months to 2 years. They fall out easily when they are ready to, often during swimming or shower time.
